Discovering a Kentish delight not far away

I’m getting to know bits of Kent quite well now I’m living here, and of course places always look far better in summer than wintertime..so this week when there was a chance to further explore a part thats not that far away from where I live I thought I’d take that opportunity, and camera in hand took a walk around East Malling….

I started with the churchyard always happy to see ancient stones covered in moss

Not far from the church is the sort of half timbered old cottage that I love to see and further into the village another one

And then delighted to see a pool of clear water, there seems to be a lot of water running through the village I discovered

And a typical Kentish Oast house and then as I walked further on I could hear running water and found that there was a clear stream running beyond the houses so I followed that to see where it lead,,,

And found to my delight that it opened up to a lake and pathway alongside it

Wow…what an absolute delight of a walk that turned out to be, such a beautiful village but even more beautiful with the running water and steam and lake at the end..so inspirational!

I’ve found my new favourite place, what a joy…
