At the end of last year my webmaster suggested that I sell some of my artwork online. At the start of this year I started to look at the various options but none seemed ideal until I remembered Artgalleryonline (who I had sold through a few years ago before I moved to Kent), since I had had success with them I thought it a good idea to go with them again, they are an English company and take 35% of the sale but I would get 65% of the sale.
I have spent all of February and half of March getting old artwork together and have 70 of them I can sell, I have been photographing the artwork and reframing it in some cases.
I have also been working hard on my artist biography for Artgalleryonline and think I’ve got it just right for what I want to say about myself as an experienced professional artist.
On Friday I signed up with Artgalleryonline and started to upload the first drawing to sell. Artgalleryonline have a system where if a buyer wants a piece of art from an artist, they pay Artgalleryonline the money by credit card, then Artgalleryonline tell the artist and the artist sends the artwork to the customer who can have if for 14 days before deciding if they want to keep it, if they don’t want it they send it back to Artgalleryonline who then send it back to the artist. If there is a sale the artist gets the payment minus the handling charge of 35% 28 days after the artwork has been sent to the customer. The good thing about this is I won’t get scammed.
Artgalleryonline have also told me that I can state on my online shop that I only want to sell to UK mainland. So I will carry on uploading artwork this week, and every few days to keep it fresh. I feel so much happier about selling through them again. They’re a professional and helpful company.
If you want to look at my online shop its https://www.artgallery.co.uk/s/jkwo245/jackie-adshead
And just to make everyones life a lot easier, if you link onto my SHOP here on my website it will also take you directly to my shop on Artgalleryonline.
So I am grateful again for my webmaster suggesting all of this, its been him who’s motivated me to get my artwork sorted out. I feel like I’m a proper artist again! And if I’m selling old artwork then it clears up space in my studio for new artwork plus I think this is the best place for me to sell my art.
And I was very very aware that I haven’t painted any art at all this year and we are three months into the year, so on Saturday afternoon I started to painting something, as I am an artist who needs to paint to feel happy.
