Starting the year the way I like best

Every year I like to treat myself to one of my favourite past-times.. Its something I started doing many years ago, as a treat to myself after working hard on artwork, and preferably commissions through the year, I wanted to do something creative that really has no benefit other than the pleasure of doing it…

And the mystery past-time is… doing a jigsaw.. and preferably one with 1000 pieces…. with an interesting subject…

So I started a new one on Boxing Day, a whimsical under the sea scene, and finished it about 6 days later.. and what I find fascinating, is that when I start doing a jigsaw it trains my eye as an artist to look for colours and shades of colours, this is the finished jigsaw and there’s a lot of turquoise in the picture, and quite a lot of blues, but after a couple of days I knew which part of the jigsaw it belonged in, by just the fainted difference in tones..

So I thoroughly enjoyed doing it….

And now have started another… a different subject but another one of my favourite subjects and also 1000 pieces… Happy artist…

So before I start painting properly in the new year, I’d like to wish you a Happy New Year and hope it brings all you wish for yourself….

As I also wish for myself too….

HAPPY NEW YEAR !
