It’s that time of year when I’ve finished the commissions I’ve done for clients for Christmas and I can sit back and relax.
It’s also the time of year when its a joy to hear from family and friends wishing me a happy Christmas with cards and messages and catching up on news over this past year.
It’s also the time when I catch up with neighbours, and I really loved the comment one of my neighbours said about the summer when we all had a drink and catch up chat together, for the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations, that we ought to do it more often, and I totally agree. We all enjoy catching up at Christmas for the same reasons..
It was also very heartwarming when a good friend I’d not seen since August turned up unexpectedly yesterday to wish my husband and me a happy Christmas and catch up. We drank tea around the kitchen table in that compionable way of good friends.. although I offered food she hadn’t got time to stay. Next time I see her we’ll have a proper drink though!!
The Christmas tree is up, and decorated, as is the house with seasonal lights and festive decorations. The Christmas cake and mince pies are made, and everything else is ready. Its going to be a quiet Christmas but that doesn’t matter.
So…I’d like to wish you a very Happy Christmas and hope you have a wonderful happy time with family and friends.
