Celebrating my love of Kent

Since I moved to Kent (almost 3 years ago!) I knew I wanted to do more artwork of this beautiful picturesque county. So last week when I had a spare day I thought I’d make the most of it and do another pen and ink drawing of one of the most picturesque places… one that had been on my to do list for a long time….

Kent has more castles than any other county in England, and most of them are beautiful to look at – as far as I am concerned as an artist with an eye for beauty….

But there is one castle which stands out more than any other for an artist to want to draw and its this one..

Leeds Castle (which just to confuse everyone, is NOT in Leeds, or even anywhere near Yorkshire!) is described as ‘the loveliest castle in England’ and I can see why – but then I always love to see old stones and water together and Leeds Castle certainly has that in abundance!

So I really enjoyed doing this one..
