I’ve got on well with the painting I’m currently working on for the client commission for Christmas… I’ve got to the fun part of hiding the images within the painting and am now working on the predominately white part, and as any artist knows white is never boring… it has so many fine details and subtle aspects within it.
My hairdresser came to cut my hair last week and as usual we chatted about the latest painting I am working on. She’s known me for six years and is always interested in my artwork and the diverse subjects and aspects of them. I smiled at her as she cut my hair and said “You’re going to like this one!” my smile was infectious and she was intrigued as to what it would be…
Later on when she was ready to go I said “Come and have a look…” and lead her into my studio, where she stood and looked at the full painting in all its glory and took in all the work that I had done on it, as I explained the story behind this painting, and the meanings for some of the images… and said that it wasn’t finished but it was getting on well even though I had quite a bit more work to do on it.
She stood mesmerised infront of it and I grinned at her and said “You can’t take your eyes off it can you?” and she nodded in agreement as she stared more at it and I said ” I KNEW you’d like it!!!!”
She said when she had finally dragged her eyes off it “Will you show it on your website and Facebook page?” and I said yes I would but not before the person receiving it had seen it, obviously. And she said “I can’t wait to see it finished, and I bet the person having this for Christmas is going to love it!!”
I agreed, and smiled as she left, and went back to working on the picture… now caught up in the main white parts before pulling the whole painting together at the end with fine tuning part….
