After writing about the picture  I started at the weekend in the last post, here is the finished version in full and vibrant colour. It was painted in acrylic inks and highlights are picked out in oil pastels. The use of inks means that the picture has a translucency about it as they allow the white of the paper to show through. I love the architectural shapes of the spheres of the alliums on their long elegant stems, and loved capturing the different sizes of them as they are scattered though the garden. I didn’t need to put in more detail of the greenery around and behind the flowers, since they are the total focal point, making the title very easy to choose – it’s “Pretty in pink”.
