Imprinted on my heart

Invitation

It wasn’t a date as such, but it had been planned that we would meet, and I walked up the street wondering what his reaction would be. Would be be happy, or disappointed in me. There was only one way to find out. I took a deep breath, and walked expectantly through his door, with a gentle smile on my face, and waited avidly in agonised silence for him to notice me. After a few drawn out minutes, he  eventuallydid. He caught my eye and knew exactly why I was there.

Icarefully reached into my bag, and passed him the small precious item I had brought especially, for him. He took it from me without a word, and turned away. I knew what he would do with it, although I knew he didn’t value it as much as I treasured it.

Another long silence…….

He looked intently at the images that rose up  infront of him, conjuring them with his hand and fingers, noting the nuances of detail, and colour but not interested in the subject matter.

And then he spoke.

“They’re fine, there’s plenty of detail there, enough to use easily!”

Phew, I smiled at him, and he smiled back.

He knew what difficulties I had had to get to that point, and for the printer guy to give me the go-ahead was a long awaited dream come true.

I can now do prints of my artwork.

It doesn’t sound like a big thing, but actually, it’s a huge thing.
