I can’t decide which excites me most

Garden with intrigue1I don’t know which I find most exciting.

Finishing a painting, or starting one.

There is that flush of excitement when I know I’ve finished a painting and can stand back and look admiringly at what I’ve done, knowing how many long hours have gone into the painting, and knowing that I’ve got a good likeness and that the  atmospheric image is depicting whatever message it  is supposed to either overtly or more subtly.

But there is also a thrill when I am asked to paint a picture for a client, they give me the brief, and I imagine the best way to paint it for them. I may not have seen the main focal point beforehand (a person, place, pet, or favoured item) but I can imagine it. I can start the creative juices flowing, building up the momentum, and inspiring me to draw and paint before I even see any photos or the subject matter itself face to face and can then start fine tuning the details and turning it into a work of art.

This week I received more information about something that a client I spoke to many weeks ago wants me to paint for him in the next few months hopefully. But I can’t do it yet, because he has to wait for one intregal part to be finished by another expert before then. When that’s done, we can go ahead with it. And it sounds really exciting because it involves his wife in a somewhat intriguing pose within it.

But before then, I have another picture to do. Of a garden, but that is not the prime image, oh no, there is far more to it than that 🙂

And its going to a client in a country that I’ve not sold to before.Garden with intrigue2 (2)…..

My next step in world domination! 🙂
