Put me on hold til then

With a flourish, the artist signed her name, content in the fact that the painting, infact this most difficult of  difficult paintings, was completed. She stood back, and viewed her artwork, yes, it was all there, the castle, the dragon, the landscape, the muted colours, the flowing river, the setting sun, all there. And regardless of what it stood for, it looked good as an image, as a painting, all the important things were there and worked in conjunction with each other. She smiled, and happily stood there, drinking it all in. And looked for errors, for anything that could be changed or improved on. No, it was all there, there is nothing else to add to it. Finished.

So, with a smile she contacted the client to say “It’s done!” the painting is finished, and ready for your perusal, do you want me to email it across, or want to see it for yourself face to face? And he replied that he wanted to see it face to face, but not this week because it was Easter and he’s busy, so it will have to be next week. “Ok” I sighed, and have resigned myself that I’ll have to wait a week or more to be able to say that it is fully complete, and done.

So I’m in a bit of a lull til then.

So, I am decorating the house!

In the mean time, and since I’m in a lull, and since its Easter and traditionally the time that people do decorate after the cold winter, except its still bloody cold and wintery and white with snow where I am.  But I don’t want to start anything else art wise til I know I’ve properly finished this painting, and whilst the momentum is still there, although I’m having to wait a bit to find out.
