Happy Christmas flung far and wide

All the chores are done, the turkey is quietly defrosting, the  house is clean and smelling faintly of spiced oranges, the fridge isn’t bursting at the seams, but it certainly holds enough nice and tasty things to produce enough meals over the next few days…

….and I am reminded today of the people in my life who I want to wish a Happy Christmas…

I rang my ex husband for a chat this morning and was greeted with “I was just going to ring you, you beat me to it!” and even though we were divorced two years ago we’re still friends and chat regularly on the phone or in real life, talking today about our respective familes, of friends we’re both still friendly with and I smiled when he told me that his new partners ex-husband will go and have a meal with them, since I too will be sharing a meal with MY partners ex-wife as well over this festive season! This extended network of ex-es means that the people in our lives are connected through somewhat surprising ways sometimes.

But my fella and I also have many friends of our own, people who we love to be with, who make us laugh, and feed our sense of humour and share our love of life as well as being able to find intelligent (and sometimes very silly) conversation with.

I have friends and family I keep in touch with via Facebook and some friends are friends via email, not seen face to face for many a long year, but still valued as friends who bring a strong sense of connection and shared interests.

So, to all my friends, however I know you, however long I’ve known you, I want to wish you all a joyous and Happy Christmas and one that I hope brings merriment and love to you all, through this festive season.  Have a good one!
