Happy second birthday blog

I was going to say “Happy second blog birthday”, but I’ve only got one blog, and “happy blog” sounds a bit overly joyful, so its “happy second birthday blog”, whatever a happy second is – well, one way or another, you’ve got the drift – I’ve been writing my blog for two years now! Yay!!!

And I do love writing the blog, and receiving the feedback I get from it, either on the blog itself or in real life. And I love the friends I’ve made through it – I’m thinking of one in particular, and he knows who he is, on another continent, but who is very helpful and supportive of my art and what I do. And this week I’ve had a chat in real life with Fitzy who has been been supportive of my blog and art too – it was good to have a long chat with him and discuss the artwork he wants to commission from me, and I’m looking forward to meeting him at some point in the future, when we can sort out the logistics.

Other than than, I’ve started to draw out another Queynte, with a view to starting to paint it soon, so that’s also exciting – as I’m never quite sure what they’re going to turn out like until they’re finished, which is odd for me, normally I know exactly what the painting is going to look like, but not with these fantasy fanny abstracts, which makes it more fun, and a bit more difficult for me, but they always seem to look alright in the end, so they work however they’re created!

And my good mate Lucy Felthouse sent me a link this week for an article she wrote about her visit to Erotica in November – its here if you’d like to read her article.

So, what do you do when its your blog birthday – bake it a virtual cake and blow out the two candles? Ok……. I’ll do that then! 🙂

I've been an artist all of my life, and my paintings now hang on walls in Europe, USA and Canada. I'm working on getting them on the other continents! My wide range of artwork has been exhibited nearer to home in the East Midlands, with the Guild of Erotic Artists at Beaumont Hall Studios in Hertfordshire, and at "Erotica", Olympia, London. I have also been featured alongside my work in the Guild of Erotic Artists book (volume 2). I love to create dramatic interest in my pictures, whether it’s to paint an unusual landscape, or just to utilise dramatic lighting in my figure drawings or strong colour in my animal portraits. Delighting in the spontaneous tendencies of watercolour adds an interesting and distinctive look to my paintings, some of which are purposefully ambiguous, enabling the viewer to use their own interpretation of my artwork. I also love to hide images, and humour within my paintings, whether it’s a secret message, or an erotic couple hidden within a landscape, or even an erotic landscape where the couple are camouflaged as the features of the land itself. I am equally happy painting in oils, acrylics or watercolours and love to draw with pencil or ink. I have also developed the very effective method of drawing using white pencil on black card which creates dramatic pictures by just picking out where the light catches the body and leaving the rest of the image to the imagination, in darkness. I can also utilise many different styles, whether it is realistic, abstract, surrealistic, erotic, fantasy or camouflage art where something is hidden within the painting. I'm just passionate about my art, whatever I paint! But, it doesn't matter how many landscapes or pet portraits I paint, its always the erotic stuff that people are interested in! I started blogging to share some of the strange conversations I have with the people I meet. But its evolved into far more than that now.

    Happy Second Birthday Blog!

I hope both you and your Blog enjoyed the virtual birthday cake and you remembered to blow out those virtual candles! lol A virtual cake must be a great aid to dieting, although personally you simply cannot beat a huge fresh cream cake!!! Sadly I am now feeling really rather hungry……………. Fitzy returns from eating a virtual biscuit or two, although the crumbs on my fingers show the huge advancements in virtual technology!

Perhaps this virtual business could be a new sideline for you, virtual food, or even virtual art! You could charge people thousands and tell them to simply imagine the great masterpiece that is now hanging on their wall! Although if you don’t mind, could you please start that once I have sorted out my commissions please! As your work most definitely needs to be both seen and displayed rather than simply imagined.

Thank you very much for the mention, it was really good to chat with you as well and I am certainly looking forward to being well enough to sort out my commissions and pay you a visit in the not too distant future.

Well, here’s to another two years of you keeping us all so entertained!

    Thank you.

Fitzy – Mmm…. virtual art – where I just sit at home and do nothing, never paint another picture ever again, but instead I describe the fabulous works of art for people to imagine hung on their walls – AND they pay me lots of money for it as well!!!! 🙂 I like the concept, but not sure I’m happy about the idea of never painting again, so I think I’ll continue, and your commissions will be painted in real life. Glad you’re happy with that idea! 🙂

Yes, it was good to chat, and I’m looking forward to meeting you in real life, rather than “virtually”!

Thankyou, I’m glad you find my blog entertaining, and plan on writing it for a few couple of years, at least.

It would certainly be a shame not to see anymore or your wonderful work and I am pleased you feel the same, so perhaps virtual art wasn’t one of my better ideas, I seem to be having a run of those just lately! lol

I am of course thrilled to bits with the idea of having my commissions painted and drawn by you in real life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Now that certainly was one of my better ideas, as was purchasing two of the drawing from your recent erotic art auction.

It will also be great to meet you in the real world as well.

Well you know I enjoy your writing very much, almost as much as your art in fact, so I am certainly pleased to hear that you plan to continue your Blog for at least another two years!
