The week has not gone as planned

This week hasn’t gone as I thought it would have done at the beginning of it. I thought I’d be finishing off the black and white painting of the naked couple on the beach I’ve been working on for the last couple of weeks. But, as is often the case when you have a big expectation… it goes off in a different direction.

The people I am doing the painting for have not set a deadline for it, its just I thought I had a couple of clear working days this week and would virtually possibly be close to finishing it. But obviously if I can’t work on it, I can’t. They won’t be shown it until I’m one hundred per cent happy with it.

The first interruption to it, if you want to call it that was an unexpected but delightful invite out for a meal early in the week, and to look at a property that has been bought that has a load of potential to make a fabulous abode. As I was shown around the empty building, and could see how it would look when various internal walls had been removed, doorways blocked up, new kitchen put in, and new bathrooms, windows widened and the rooms properly allocated. I asked the new owner if any colour schemes had been decided on…. its the artist in me I know! I think the fact it hadn’t currently got a kitchen, or central heating system meant that answer was a long way off! sky-sea-photo-comparrison-2

The second interruption was a lovely, but also unexpected phone call response to something I had done the day before. I love it when I get positive upbeat reactions to something I’ve done, so it was a delight to hear that happy joyous reaction on the other end of a phone.

And today, something that I expected to take ten minutes went off at a totally different tangent and took almost two and a half hours before I could carry on with the rest of the day… and also meaning it was too dark to carry on painting by the time I got home.

But, against those three different tangents, I have had two WOW responses to the two people who have seen the work in progress painting this week, plus my sister said that her youngest son thought the water that he had seen so far on the last blog post was the best painting I’d ever done, which I considered amazing as a response.

And today, even with the two and a half hours delay before I could get on with what I had planned, I was asked in passing what my job was and got a massively positive response to it from the person asking the question, and an announcement of wanting to look at my website to see what sort of artwork I do, to find out more.

So, so far this week, its been bouncing around in positive and strange ways…. for me. sky-sea-photo-comparrison

Its not been a bad week, just a strange one so far…. like the planets are out of alignment…
